Subject: Gainful Employment Electronic Announcement #73 - Spring 2016 Distribution of Draft GE Completers Lists
We would like to inform the community that the distribution of the Draft GE Completers List will occur in Spring 2016, rather than this winter as previously announced. After we have ensured system readiness, Federal Student Aid will generate and send an institution's Draft GE Completers List to the institutionally designated Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) mailbox, if the institution had one or more GE Programs with program completers in award years 2010-2011 and 2011-2012. We will post an Electronic Announcement to the IFAP website announcing the date that the Draft GE Completers Lists were distributed to institutions. Consistent with the GE regulations at 34 CFR 668.405, institutions will have 45 days from that announced date to submit any corrections or challenges to the information included in the Draft GE Completers Lists.
For further information about how to establish an SAIG mailbox and how to receive, review, and submit corrections or challenges to Draft GE Completers Lists, refer to GE Electronic Announcement #71 and to Chapter 5 of the NSLDS Gainful Employment User Guide.
We encourage institutions to use the time prior to the distribution of the GE Completers Lists to report additional GE information as needed to NSLDS, as well as to make any necessary corrections to previously-reported GE data. Multiple communications have been posted to the IFAP website over the past several months with instructions on how to report to NSLDS and how to confirm that NSLDS has received an institution's information for all of its GE programs. In particular, refer to GE Electronic Announcements #59, #60, #61, and to Chapter 4 in the NSLDS Gainful Employment User Guide for assistance with NSLDS GE Program Tracking functionality.
DCAS Implementation
In GE Electronic Announcement #64, we announced that we have designed a new Web-based application to support the GE challenges and appeals process. Initially, the Data Challenges and Appeals Solution (DCAS) will allow institutions to submit corrections and challenges to data on their Draft GE Completers Lists. Please continue to monitor the IFAP website for a forthcoming announcement about the availability of DCAS. GE Electronic Announcement #67 contains detailed information about enrolling for access to DCAS.
Training Opportunities
Closer to the time of distribution of the GE Completers Lists, we will present a webinar to provide additional information on the process of submitting challenges and corrections to the GE Completers Lists. We will post a Training Announcement to the IFAP website when registration for the webinar is open. In the meantime, recorded versions of our November 18 and 19 webinars are available, including transcripts and presentation materials, on the IFAP website. We strongly urge anyone who was unable to attend these webinars or anyone who would like a refresher, to view the recordings.
