Subject: Publication of Gainful Employment NPRM
On July 26, 2010, we published in the Federal Register a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NRPM) related to the requirement that certain academic programs lead to "gainful employment in a recognized occupation" in order for students in such programs to be eligible for Title IV student assistance. A PDF copy of the NPRM is attached to this announcement. It is also available directly on the IFAP website under Federal Registers.
The deadline for submitting comments to this NPRM is September 9, 2010. Please carefully review the information in the NPRM for the procedures to be used for the submission and review of comments.
