Vanessa Gomez joined the U.S. Department of Education in June 2020. Since then, Vanessa has written regulations for the general provisions of the Title IV programs and sub-regulatory guidance for the FSA programs. Additionally, Vanessa is the team lead for FAFSA® verification in OPE. Prior to joining the Department, Vanessa was a Peace Corps volunteer in China. As a Peace Corps volunteer, Vanessa taught classes in Society & Culture of English-speaking Countries, Business English, English Writing, and Oral English to Chinese students at a teachers college.
