While never her intended career path, after a start as a financial aid counselor at Western Oregon University in 1996, Kim never looked back on a career in financial aid. Her career trajectory includes working for the U.S. Department of Education (ED) as a Direct Loan Client Account Manager, serving as a financial aid training specialist for EdFund, a former guarantee services provider, filling the role of a Client Relations Manager, also for EdFund, and finally coming full circle with a return to ED and Federal Student Aid (FSA). Some of you may recognize her from her former role as a training officer with FSA from the Seattle regional office. Her current role is leading the FAFSA Product Team as the FAFSA Product Owner, a role she greatly enjoys and from which she constantly learns. When she’s not busy working, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling to pretty much anywhere, playing with her adorable golden retriever Kinley, reading, listening to music, spending time with her friends and family, running, and just generally being in the great outdoors.
