
Kai Kimbrough has more than 25 years of experience as a financial aid professional. Kai began her career at the U.S. Department of Education’s office of Federal Student Aid (FSA) 10 years ago in the Performance Improvement and Procedures Service Group, now called Performance Management Group. Kai provides leadership for planning and developing the policies and procedures for compliance oversight and monitoring activities and priorities. Her areas of expertise include institutional eligibility, method of payment, and internal control management. Prior to joining FSA, Kai served as director of Compliance and Training at Columbia College Chicago, director of Student Financial Services at Gibbs College – Livingston, and financial aid officer at Hampton University. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling with a concentration in College Student Development from Hampton University. Kai resides in Washington, DC with her family.
