Vigna
Senior Project Manager, Next Gen Program Office

Dwight Vigna began his career with the U.S. Department of Education as a contractor for the Loan Origination System, the second system that originated Direct Loans, and ran that project for five years. In 2003, he joined FSA as the Director for Direct Loan Servicing when there was only one Direct Loan servicer. After three years, he was asked to take over the FSA default portfolio and work with private collection agencies to collect on defaulted debt. He is now a Senior Project Manager within the Next Gen Program Office and was the lead project manager for the implementation of the new NSLDS® system that went live in June 2022. He is now working with a variety of FSA teams to help move Public Service Loan Forgiveness, TEACH, and total and permanent disability discharge processing into StudentAid.gov to help automate these processes for borrowers and give borrowers greater oversight of the documents they submit along with help tools to complete work electronically.
