Download My Aid Data File Layout

We are pleased to announce the availability of the updated Download My Aid Data File Layout. The Download My Aid Data option on StudentAid.gov allows students to download information about their Title IV aid, including loans, grants, overpayments, subsidized usage, enrollment, and contact information, into a machine-readable, plain text file. Download My Aid Data is available from the “My Aid” page on StudentAid.gov.

Note: The source of the aid data is the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS®). This functionality was previously named “MyStudentData Download” and was available on the NSLDS Student Access website before it was retired.

To assist software vendors with designing new tools for students to maximize the usefulness of the data, we have updated the Download My Aid Data File Layout. This document defines the layout of the file that students can download from StudentAid.gov.

The updated layout, dated October 2022, replaces the December 2018 version. Refer to the attachment for a complete description of the updates.
