Federal Student Aid is in the process of redesigning and replacing all of the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) Computer Based Training (CBT) modules. In addition, the COD CBT has been moved to the Federal Student Aid E-Training website, https://fsatraining.ed.gov
Existing COD CBT Simulation – Many of the existing COD CBT simulations are several years old. However, until newer versions are produced, the existing simulations demonstrate some very basic functionality and continue to provide some limited benefit even though the date and award year references are not current. The existing COD CBT simulations include COD System simulations, a Direct Loan (DL) Tools simulation, and Foreign School Processing simulations.
New COD System Training Lessons – The new COD System training lessons will be designed as short videos highlighting a particular function or activity. Over time, we will expand and replace the existing simulations with new lessons covering a variety of training topics. All of the new training lessons will be added to the Federal Student Aid E-Training website.
To access the existing COD CBT modules, the new training lessons (and future lessons as they become available), and other COD System and Campus-Based training, log in to Federal Student Aid E-Training with your username and password. After logging in, select “Systems Training” from the main menu bar. From the drop-down menu that appears, choose "COD Training" and then select the icon for the lesson you wish to access. Note: Older COD CBT modules can be found under the “Previous COD Training Scheduled for Updating” link.
If you do not have a username and password for Federal Student Aid E-Training, click on "Create new account" on the home page and follow the instructions to create a username and password.
