Summary: Changes to Direct Loan Publications Fulfillment Process

Posted on 07-21-2005

Dear Partner:

Over the past several months, FSA has moved the fulfillment process for Direct Loan publications into the Department of Education's publication ordering system, ED Pubs. The infrastructure is now in place, and we will soon be ready to transition the ordering of Direct Loan publications from the COD School Relations Center to ED Pubs. Please review the information below and evaluate its impact at your school. At a minimum, we recommend that you update your school's procedures to reflect this new information.

How do we order Direct Loan publications?

Through September 30, 2005, your school should continue to order Direct Loan publications through the COD School Relations Center. You may also download many of the Direct Loan publications from the Direct Loan Web site at http://www.ed.gov/offices/OSFAP/DirectLoan/index.html.

Beginning October 1, 2005, your school must order Direct Loan publications directly through ED Pubs. Your school will place its order in one of the following ways:

Web: www.FSApubs.org

Telephone: 800/394-7084

E-mail: orders@fsapubs.org

Fax: 301/470-1244

Additional information about publications ordering is provided in the attachment to this bulletin.

Which Direct Loan publications are available for order?

All Direct Loan publications are available for order. This includes all paper Master Promissory Notes (and related items, such as the Plain Language Disclosure). A complete list of available Direct Loan publications is provided in the attachment to this bulletin.

We look forward to serving you better through this new process and thank you for your ongoing partnership in the Direct Loan Program.

Sincerely,

Bill Leith
General Manager, Program Operations Channel
