Subject: Improvements to School Reports Available on the Direct Loan Servicing School Web Site

Dear Partner:

We are pleased to announce several improvements that Federal Student Aid (FSA) has made to the school reports available on the Direct Loan Servicing School web site located at www.dl.ed.gov/schools. Changes have been made to the Entrance and Exit Counseling reports, the Delinquency reports (including the Late Stage Delinquency Assistance (LSDA) report), and the Portfolio reports. In addition, the "look and feel" of these reports has been improved.

Beginning with the October 2004 month-end reports available on the Direct Loan Servicing School web site, you will note the following changes:

  • Updated on-line help screens to reflect all "look and feel" changes
  • Flexibility to format and sort data for web-based reports
  • Additional loan detail, indicating if a loan is subsidized or unsubsidized
  • Relevant footnotes at the bottom of the report page to provide additional information
  • New fields added to the Delinquent Summary Report

As in the past, the reports will still be available through the normal monthly transmission to your school's Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) mailbox. However, at this time, the SAIG reports have not been changed as noted above. We are working to make these changes to the SAIG reports in the near future.

Please review your school's reports as soon as possible. If you have questions about the reports, please call School Services at 888/877-7658. Thank you for your ongoing partnership in the Direct Loan Program.

Sincerely,

Bill Leith
