Subject: School Administration LO-Online Functionality Moving to Direct Loan E-MPN Web Site
Dear Partner:
This bulletin informs you that we are moving the School Administration LO-online functionality web site to the Direct Loan E-MPN web site. This move should minimally impact your business processes, but we want to share some key changes that are important.
To accommodate the move, the School Administration LO-online functionality web site and the Direct Loan E-MPN web site will be unavailable from 8:00 P.M. (ET), Friday, October 1, 2004 through Noon (ET), Sunday, October 3, 2004. During this time, you will not be able to access the School Administration LO-online functionality. Additionally, borrowers will not be able to complete a new MPN electronically or retrieve an existing MPN that was completed electronically. Messages will be posted on the web sites accordingly.
Note: Borrowers who start the electronic MPN process by 7:00 P.M. (ET) on Friday, October 1, 2004 will be able to complete their MPNs before the web site becomes unavailable. Also, as a reminder, on Monday, October 4, 2004 from 12:00 A.M. until 7:00 A.M. (ET) the Direct Loan E-MPN web site will be unavailable while weekly routine maintenance is performed.
Beginning October 4, 2004, you should access the current School Administration LO-online functionality at the new web address, http://dlenote.ed.gov. No changes will be made to your User ID and password. To access the school functions:
1. Go to http://dlenote.ed.gov.
2. From the menu selections on the left-hand side of the page, click on "Login to eMPN Online." This will bring you to the login page.
3. Enter your User ID and Password.
If you have the previous web site (lo-online.ed.gov) on a bookmark or favorites list, please make sure to update the list with the new web address. Also, make the change in any procedure that references the previous web site. The old address will be disabled after 30 days (in the meantime, you will be re-directed to the new web address).
As a result of this move, schools and students will be using the same web site to work with MPNs electronically. If your students ask about the Login to eMPN Online link, please explain that this link is for school use only. Shortly after the migration, we will update the link to indicate that it is for school use.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we improve our electronic processes and for your ongoing partnership in the Direct Loan Program.
Sincerely,
Bill Leith
