Summary: New Exit Counseling Guide and Publications Ordering and Reference Guide

Dear Partner,

We are pleased to announce that we have completed a revised version of the Exit Counseling Guide for Direct Loan Borrowers! This publication is now available to order through the normal distribution process described in the Direct Loan Publications Ordering and Reference Guide attached to this bulletin. Shortly, the publication (in PDF format) will also be available on the Direct Loan web site, www.ed.gov/offices/OSFAP/DirectLoan/pubs/profpubs.html, under Forms and Publications.

We will begin shipping orders for the Exit Counseling Guide on April 1, 2004. The Item Number for the Exit Counseling Guide is DSL054. You may order the guide in any amount, but given the high demand for this publication, we ask that you limit your order to the amount you expect to use.

As a reminder, your students may complete exit counseling on the Direct Loan Servicing web site, www.dl.ed.gov. We encourage you to use this electronic counseling resource because it is a complete, comprehensive, and interactive way for your students to receive the required exit counseling. Additionally, electronic exit counseling offers an opportunity for your students to be introduced to and become familiar with the Direct Loan Servicing Center and its web site.

The revised version of the Entrance Counseling Guide for Direct Loan Borrowers is almost complete. We expect to begin shipping orders for the Entrance Counseling Guide at the end of April 2004. We will provide more information about ordering the Entrance Counseling Guide in a subsequent bulletin.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we developed these new counseling materials. They were designed with your help! We look forward to continuing our publications improvement process and hope to provide more quality products in the near future.

If you have any questions about this bulletin or ordering other Direct Loan publications, you may contact the COD School Relations Center at 800/848-0978. You may also email inquiries to codsupport@acs-inc.com.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership in the Direct Loan Program.

Sincerely,

Jane Holman
