Subject: Upcoming Changes in Access to the Direct Loan Servicing System (DLSS) Website
Dear Partner:
This bulletin provides important information concerning your ability to access the Direct Loan Servicing System (DLSS) website for schools, http://www.dl.ed.gov/schools/main.asp. Beginning on October 1, 2003, a COD User Name and Password will be required to access both the COD and Direct Loan Servicing websites. If you do not have a COD User Name and Password by October 1, you will no longer be able to access the DLSS website.
When accessing the DLSS website you can start at either the DLSS website or the COD website.
- If you start on the DLSS site, you will be redirected to the COD login page where you need to enter your COD user name and password. After the system authenticates your login, a new browser window will open containing the DLSS website.
- If you start on the COD website, enter your COD user name and password on the login page. Select "Services" (previously called "Reports") from the menu at the top of the screen. Click "Direct Loan Servicing" on the left of the screen and then click on the web link. This will open a new browser window containing the DLSS website. You will not need to log into DLSS separately.
- Alternatively, if you start on the COD website, enter your COD user name and password on the login page. Select "Links" from the menu at the bottom of the screen and then click on DLSS weblink. This will open a new browser window containing the DLSS website. Again, you will not need to log into DLSS separately.
If you are in need of COD access, please refer to the following announcements on IFAP:http://www.ifap.ed.gov/cod/0318Schoolaccess.html. If you have any questions concerning COD, you may contact the COD School Relations Center at 800/848-0978 or by email at CODSupport@acs-inc.com. Thank you for your ongoing partnership in the Direct Loan Program.
Sincerely,
