Dear Partner:
Beginning August 11, 2003, we will have the Direct Loan Rebuild file available to assist you with data recovery.� You can request the Direct Loan Rebuild via the COD Website, www.cod.ed.gov, or by contacting your customer service representative. Within 24 hours, the requested file will be in your school's SAIG mailbox.
Who can request a Direct Loan Rebuild through the COD Website?
For security reasons, COD Website users with the following access levels may make requests:
- School Users 3, 4, and Administrators
- Third Party Users 3, 4, and Administrators
How do I request a Direct Loan Rebuild for my school?
Once you log onto the COD Website, follow these steps:
- Click on the "Batch" tab.
- Click on the "Direct Loan Rebuild" link found on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Click on the "New Request" button.
- Enter the Entity ID for your school.
- Select the Request Type:
§Award Year- provides all loan/disbursement information for the entire award year§Date Range- provides loan/disbursement information within a range of dates for a particular award year (new in 2002-2003, not available for prior award years).§Borrower/Student- provides loan(s)/disbursement(s) information for one particular borrower/student by SSN#.§Award ID-provides loan/disbursement information for a specific Award ID. - Enter the Award Year applicable to the search.
- Click on the "Submit" button.
You will receive the requested information in your SAIG mailbox. The message class is CODRBFOP. You will need to import the file into your system using DL Tools version 3.0 to display a report and/or to rebuild an EDExpress database or specific loan(s)/disbursement(s). Information and documentation concerning DL Tools software download and installation is available on the US Department of Education's Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site (located at http://FSAdownload.ed.gov).
How Do I Search for a Previously Requested Report? Once you have logged into the COD Website:
- Click on the "Batch"tab.
- Click on the "Direct Loan Rebuild" link on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Fill out the appropriate fields by selecting from the pull-down boxes.
- Click on "Search".
You will see all previously produced reports for the requested criteria.
