Dear Partner:

We are pleased to announce a new on-line computer-based training (CBT) program for the COD system web site. The CBT program updates the original program distributed on CD-ROM at the 2002 Electronic Access Conferences. New CD-ROMs will not be distributed. Downloadable information and instructions for using the CBT program are available at http://ifap.ed.gov/eannouncements/0311CBTNowAvail.html.

The program requires a Windows 98, 2000, or XP operating system with an ODBC driver for Microsoft Access 2000. The screen resolution should be set to 1024x768 or higher.

The training program has six lessons with text to guide you through each area of the COD system. It simulates the COD web screens and functionality available to a School Administrator. You can explore the basic navigation and functions of the COD website and practice locating and creating information in a safe environment with feedback to help you. The program uses fictitious data with over 350 students and 20 schools that offer a wide range of conditions you may experience at your institution.

If you have any questions concerning COD or the new CBT program, you may contact the COD School Relations Center at 800/848-0978. Staff is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. (Eastern Time). You may also email inquiries to CODSupport@acs-inc.com.

Thank you for your support of the COD system and your ongoing partnership in the Direct Loan Program.

Sincerely,

Jane Holman
