PublicationDate: 5/1/2000 BulletinID: DLB - 00 - 23 May 2000 DLB 00-23 Subject: The Direct Loan Listserv Dear Partner: We intend to begin using the Direct Loan listserv in the near future and ask those of you who did not subscribe last year to sign on now. In keeping with our efforts to cut back on the use of paper, we want to phase out faxing Direct Loan Bulletins to you and rely instead on electronic transmission of information. We intend to send bulletins and other information via the Direct Loan listserv email. We will continue to post the bulletins on the Direct Loan and ifap web sites. The URLs are www.ed.gov/DirectLoan and http://ifap.ed.gov respectively. Information such as charts and tables, which do not transmit well via email, will be posted as quickly as possible to the web. In addition, we will send all Direct Loan Bulletins to the new Loan Origination (LO) web site for posting under the "announcements/press releases” section on the LO page. The URL for that new site is https://lo-online.ed.gov. Those of you who subscribe to the DirLoan2 listserv will continue to see the Direct Loan Bulletins posted there. To subscribe to the Direct Loan listserv, follow these easy steps: Address an email message to: listproc@inet.ed.gov Write this (and nothing else) in the message block: subscribe DLOANSINFO yourfirstname yourlastname (Leave the subject blank empty, and if you have a signature block, please turn it off.) If you do not remember subscribing to the listserv last year, you may subscribe as instructed above. If you previously subscribed, you will receive a message telling you that your name is already on the list. This listserv is read only, and you will not be able to post messages or send information to be posted on the list. Thank you for your ongoing participation in the Direct Loan program.
