Section: Written Policies
This chapter reviews the minimally required verification policies and procedures your school must have. In addition to what is required, you should institute any other means you feel necessary to ensure that verification is completed efficiently and accurately.
You must have written policies on the following verification issues:
deadlines for applicants to submit documentation and consequencesof the failure to meet those deadlines,
method of notifying applicants of award changes resulting from verification,
required correction procedures for applicants,
means of publicizing requirements and procedures, and
standard procedures for referring overpayment cases to ED.
