PublicationDate: 7/1/98 BulletinID: DLB - 98 - 28 July 1998 DLB-98-28 Subject: Additional 732-LOS Files Dear Colleague: Due to a number of requests from schools, the Department will process both a 732-LOS file and the weekly 732-LOS-C file for all schools for the final weeks of submission of electronic records and requests for manual transactions for the 1995-96 and 1996-97 Direct Loan program years. On Monday, July 27, you will receive both a 732-LOS-C file and a 732-LOS file. The 732-LOS-C file (DIS697OP) will reflect those transactions processed by the Loan Origination Center (LOC) during the week ending July 24, 1998. The 732-LOS file will reflect all loan and cash records processed through July 24,1998. This 732-LOS file will have the same message class as previous 732-LOS files and will be sent as two ASCII files, a summary file (DIS497OP) and a detail file (DIS597OP). On Monday, August 1, you will again receive both a 732-LOS-C file and a 732-LOS file. The 732-LOS-C file will reflect those transactions processed by the LOC during the week ending July 31, 1998. The 732-LOS file will reflect all loan and cash records processed through July 31, 1998, and will have the same message classes as the July 24th 732-LOS. As noted in DLB 98-27, after July 31, 1998, the LOC will continue to process all requests for manual corrections and transactions received by the LOC by the July 31, 1998, processing deadline. Schools will receive weekly 732-LOS-C files as their manual corrections and transactions are processed. The weekly 732-LOS-C file will serve as the schoolÂ’s acknowledgment that its manual corrections and transactions have been processed by the LOC. A final 732-LOS file will be produced for all schools once all manual corrections have been processed by the LOC. We will notify you prior to the processing of the final 732-LOS. If you have any questions regarding the additional 732-LOS reports, please contact your Regional Client Account Manager or your LOC Customer Service Representative at 800/848-0978. Questions regarding ending cash balances or any other closeout concerns should be directed to the Accounting and Financial Management Service at 202/205-6466. Thank you for your ongoing support of the Direct Loan Program. Sincerely, Joe L. McCormick Chair Direct Loan Task Force |
