| PublicationDate: 2/1/96 BulletinID: DLB - 96 - 3 February 1996 DLB-96-3 SUMMARY: DIRECT LOAN PUBLICATION UPDATE Dear Colleague: A number of you have asked about the availability of publications, including entrance and exit counseling materials for 1996-97. All 1995-96 Direct Loan materials must be updated for Year Three. The regulations published on December 1, 1995 made changes to the program, and we must revise our materials so that you, and your students, will not receive inaccurate information for 1996-97. A schedule of upcoming borrower publications is attached. When Direct Loan publications and other materials become available, we will send you a Bulletin and include an order sheet. We will also make the text of all Direct Loan publications available on the SFABBS at the same time they are sent to the Government Printing Office to be printed. This means you will be able to retrieve a text copy at least one month before the printed copy is available. In the near future, we plan to post Direct Loan publications, graphics and all, on the internet on a Direct Loan Home Page. Schools that still need 1995-96 publications, including Direct Loan folders to give your students to hold their 1995-96 entrance and exit counseling materials, may order these items by calling the Loan Origination Center--School Relations Department at 1-800-557-7394.
