| PublicationDate: 2/1/98 BulletinID: DLB - 98 - 4 February 1998 DLB-98-4 SUBJECT: Direct Loan 1998-99 Implementation Dear Colleague: The Direct Loan Program will be installing new software for the 1998-99 academic year beginning on Friday, February 13, 1998. In order to accomplish this task, the Loan Origination Center (LOC) will be closed on that date. The LOC and the Direct Loan Servicing Center (DLSC) will be closed for President's Day on Monday, February 16, 1998. Beginning Tuesday, February 17, 1998, the LOC and the DLSC will be ready to receive your loans for the 1998-99 school year. Please make note of the following schedule: All Title IV WAN data that was transmitted between 8:00 PM EST on February 11, 1998, and 8:00 PM EST on February 12, 1998, will be processed on the evening of February 16. Schools will be able to retrieve acknowledgments after 8:00 AM on Tuesday, February 17. At 8:00 PM EST on Tuesday, February 17, the LOC will retrieve all data that was sent to the Title IV WAN between 8:00 PM EST, February 12, 1998, and 8:00 PM EST on February 17. Schools will be able to retrieve their acknowledgments after 8:00 AM EST on February 18, 1998. This will put the LOC back on its regular nightly schedule.
