Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce the availability of our new video
"Implementing a Custom Direct Loan Processing System". It was
developed with the assistance of three institutions who have
experience in developing custom software for use in the Direct Loan
program. We would like to thank George Mason University, the
University of Illinois at Champaign, and the Coast Community
College District of California for sharing their valuable insight.

The purpose of this video is to provide Direct Loan schools with the
basic information they need to plan, design and implement a system
for processing Direct Loans. The video examines the process of
implementing a Direct Loan processing system using software in
addition to or other than EDExpress. Topics include planning,
systems design, implementation, hardware/software considerations
and where to go for help. We hope that this video will serve as a
valuable resource to schools in planning and implementing their
Direct Loan system.

"Implementing a Custom Direct Loan Processing System" is
available through our video tape lending library. To request a copy,
please call 1-800-4-FED-AID, and the Student Aid Information
Center staff will be happy to send you the videotape.

Sincerely,

Joe L. McCormick
