Subject: 2011-2012 SAR Comment Codes and Text Guide (August 2011 Update)
We are pleased to announce the posting of the updated 2011-2012 SAR Comment Codes and Text reference guide. The reference guide is designed as a stand-alone guide as well as a companion to the 2011-2012 EDE Technical Reference. The guide includes a description of changes to the SAR comments for 2011-2012, and also provides the complete text for all 2011-2012 comments.
The August 2011 update includes a revision to add comment 147 as a result of the new Social Security Administration (SSA) guidelines for assigning Social Security Numbers (SSNs). Refer to the electronic announcements posted on June 23, 2011 and July 8, 2011 to the IFAP Web site for more information about this change.
Note: Comment 147 will not appear on a student's record until after we implement changes to Federal Student Aid systems in late October 2011 to accommodate the new SSN assignment guidelines. Please monitor the IFAP Web site for a forthcoming communication about the October 2011 system change.
