Return of Title IV Funds

Subject
Return of Title IV Funds

Schools are required to provide students with details of all refund policies applicable to the school as well as information on the Title IV program requirements for the treatment of Title IV funds when a student withdraws.

If you identify areas requiring corrective action, we recommend that you complete an Action Plan.

*COVID-19

Due to the current coronavirus national emergency, Congress (CARES Act) and the Department of Education have made certain allowances and exceptions to the normal R2T4 process. Specifically, any student who begins attendance in a payment period or period of enrollment that includes March 13, 2020, or begins between March 13 and the last date that the national emergency is in effect, and subsequently withdraws from the period as a result of COVID-19-related circumstances, an institution is not required to return Title IV funds. For more specific information outlining the various CARES Act R2T4 relief provisions, please review the May 15, 2020 electronic announcement and the Department’s coronavirus webpage.
