----------------------------------------------------------------------- DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AGENCY: Department of Education. SUMMARY: After processing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the Department sends FAFSA applicants a Student Aid Report (SAR). The SAR contains the results of eligibility and expected family contribution determinations, information that the student originally reported on the FAFSA, and information about the applicant's financial aid history from the Department's National Study Loan Data System. SAR recipients are expected to review the information on the SAR and (1) correct errors in the reported information, (2) update information that may have changed since filing the FAFSA, (3) verify the responses if so requested, and on the paper SAR, (4) correct illegible information, or (5) supply missing information. The Secretary of Education requests comments on the SAR that the Department proposes to use for the 2007-2008 award year. The Secretary is publishing this request for comment under the Provisions
of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, 44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq. Under that
Act, ED must obtain the review and approval of the Office of Management
and Budget (OMB) before it may use a form to collect information. However,
under procedure for obtaining approval from OMB, ED must first obtain
public comment of the proposed form, and to obtain that comment, ED must
