Active confirmation is an annual process that requires administrators to verify user access to Federal Student Aid (FSA) systems and Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) mailboxes. This process helps safeguard sensitive information by ensuring only authorized individuals within the organization retain access.
The 2026 active confirmation period begins on Oct. 2, 2026. Every organization must confirm each user's access to its SAIG mailboxes and online services by Dec. 31, 2026. This includes access to the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) website, eCDR Appeals, EDconnect, eZ-Audit, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) Partner Portal, FSA Partner Connect, and the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS®) Professional Access website. It also includes SAIG mailboxes enrolled for batch services for NSLDS, the FAFSA Processing System, the COD System, and the Financial Management System.
If administrators fail to complete this process by the deadline, we will deactivate the organization’s users and they will lose access to critical FSA services, such as Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) deliveries, ISIR requests, FAFSA corrections, and NSLDS enrollment reporting and updates.
Administrators perform the required validation steps in FSA Partner Connect, which provides a modernized and streamlined approach for active confirmation. The “Active Confirmation” tab will be available in the Account Access Management Center in FSA Partner Connect on Oct. 2, 2026.
The following Partner Connect roles are responsible for completing active confirmation for their organization:
-
Primary Administrators & Secondary Administrators – review, validate, or remove access to SAIG mailboxes and associated online services for all users at the organization
-
Eligibility & Oversight (E&O) Administrators and Alternate E&O Administrators – review, validate, or remove E&O access for all users at the organization
More information about Partner Connect roles can be found on the General Information for Partners page.

The attachment to this announcement provides step-by-step instructions to complete the process.
Administrators can now select multiple users at once to validate or remove access in bulk. Use this option with caution and in conjunction with careful review of user access needs.
Note: Confirming access for someone who no longer needs it is a serious security violation. If an individual no longer requires professional access to an FSA system or is no longer employed by the organization, you must remove them from the organization’s list.
In addition to the job aid included with this announcement, FSA Partner Connect training materials are available in the FSA Training Center, under the “Systems Training” menu. Frequently Asked Questions are available in the FSA Partner Connect Help Center.
If you have a question, please complete the Customer Support form in the FSA Partner Connect Help Center. You may also contact the FSA Partner and School Relations Center at 1-800-848-0978. As of Aug. 28, 2026, the contact center is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.
