We are pleased to announce the launch of a new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) processing enhancement that enables real-time FAFSA results for students and provides immediate visibility of processed Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) for financial aid administrators in the FAFSA Partner Portal.
As of May 31, 2026, students and contributors who sign and submit an initial application or correction of a 2025–26 or 2026–27 FAFSA form will receive their FAFSA Submission Summary in real-time. This means that students will be able to view their confirmed Student Aid Index, Federal Pell Grant eligibility information, and any comment or reject codes immediately upon submission.
After the initial submission, students can make up to four corrections without waiting for the typical one-to-three day processing delay between transactions. This enhancement allows students to review and resolve issues more quickly and continue the financial aid process without delays associated with overnight processing cycles. If a student submits a fifth or subsequent correction, they will experience a 24-hour hold period before they receive the results.
A limited population of students does not yet have access to real-time results functionality. Veteran applicants will continue to experience the one-to-three day processing timeline while we finalize real-time functionality for this population. A small number of students who submit a FAFSA form or correction during maintenance windows or system outages may also experience the one-to-three day processing timeline. The vast majority of students, however, now have access to real-time FAFSA results and processing.
Financial aid administrators, state agencies, and other partners can now view processed 2025–26 and 2026–27 ISIR transactions for students immediately in the FAFSA Partner Portal.
As a result, partners can work with students to proceed more quickly with next steps in the financial aid process, including reviewing comments and advising students on outstanding issues, submitting corrections, packaging and disbursing aid, and supporting enrollment and aid-related decision making. This enhancement is intended to reduce delays between FAFSA submission, processing, and institutional action.
Please note that there are no changes to ISIR file delivery methods or schedules at this time. Immediate visibility of processed transactions in the FAFSA Partner Portal will not impact current batch delivery schedules through the SAIG mailbox.
