As we announced in December 2025, we will hold the 2026 Federal Student Aid Training Conference for financial aid professionals on March 4–6, 2026, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. We are looking forward to hosting our first in-person conference in six years!
This announcement provides the details you will need to register for the conference. We have designed a process to account for the limited number of seats at the conference site, to include a lottery if interest exceeds space. To ensure fair representation of our partner schools, each school may submit only one entry for the lottery.
As a reminder, we will record all sessions for those unable to attend.
If you are interested in joining us in person, please refer to the sections below for the steps to register.
If your school would like to attend the in-person conference, one representative from your school will need to complete the lottery submission form.
Only one representative from each six-digit OPEID may submit a form. We will not accept duplicate entries.
Submitting the form lets us know that your school is interested in attending; it does not guarantee that a spot will be available.
Interested schools must complete the form by Jan. 23, 2026. We will enter all forms received by this date into a lottery.
If demand is greater than available space, we will use a lottery process to randomly select schools to attend.
On or before Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, we will notify both selected and non-selected schools of their status. We will send the notification to the email address that was provided on the lottery submission form.
Selected schools will receive a confirmation email with the subject “YOU ARE IN! CONFERENCE ADMISSION CONFIRMATION.” If your school is selected, this email is confirmation of your school’s registration.
If your school is not selected, we will send an email with the subject “UPDATE ON YOUR LOTTERY SUBMISSION.”
If your school is selected but needs to decline, please notify us as soon as possible by following the instructions in the confirmation email. We will offer the space to another school based on the established lottery process.
If your school is selected but needs to change the name of the representative who will attend the conference, please follow the instructions in the confirmation email to make the update.
For more information about the conference, including more detail about the lottery and registration, refer to the “Conference FAQs” area on the FSA Training Conference website. We will continue to update the FAQs as needed.
