New Service Releases Available for EDExpress for Windows 2024–25, Release 2.0 and EDExpress 2025–26, Release 1.0 with Important Updates

New service releases are available for EDExpress for Windows 2024–25, Release 2.0 and EDExpress for Windows 2025–26, Release 1.0 to resolve an ISIR import issue in the Application Processing module. The 2024–25 service release also resolves software issues related to Notes entry and Packaging import functionality.

The service releases for both cycles fix an issue in the ISIR import process in the Application Processing module that prevented incrementing the “highest” or “active” transaction numbers for students when adding new transactions. For EDExpress 2024–25 users, this created additional software issues when importing ISIR data into the Pell Grant module. The service releases resolve this issue for any existing student records in your databases with a blank “active” transaction value and a valid ISIR transaction, as well as any new ISIR transactions imported in the future.

The EDExpress 2024–25 service release also includes the following updates:

  • Resolves a software error generated when adding Notes entries to student records.

  • Resolves an issue related to the “invalid value” error messages generated during ISIR import into the Packaging module, due to date values.

The EDExpress 2025–26 service release is the first for Release 1.0. The EDExpress 2024–25 service release is a cumulative service release that includes the software updates posted previously in the Release 2.0 service releases described in the June 27, 2024 electronic announcement and the Sept. 27, 2024 electronic announcement.

Note: You must have EDExpress 2024–25, Release 2.0 and/or EDExpress 2025–26, Release 1.0 installed on your PC before running the cycle-specific service release file. You can download EDExpress from the Software and Other Tools area of the Knowledge Center website.

Refer to the sections below for guidance and tips on downloading and running the service release files on PC workstations running EDExpress 2024–25 and/or EDExpress 2025–26.

Downloading and Running the EDExpress Service Release Files

The service release installation files for EDExpress 2024–25, Release 2.0 (EDE25_Dec2024_ReleaseV1.exe) and EDExpress 2025–26, Release 1.0 (EDE26_Dec2024_ReleaseV1.exe) are provided on the Knowledge Center website. You can initiate the download of either service release file by clicking the link. The software file will begin downloading when you click on the link.

You should run the installation on all PC workstations in your office that have Release 2.0 (for 2024–25) or Release 1.0 (for 2025–26) installed.

When you run the installation file, you are prompted to select the program directory on the PC workstation. For most users, this is the default directory of C:\Program Files (x86)\EDESuite\EDExpress for Windows 20XX-20YY (where 20XX-20YY equals the cycle of the service release you are installing). If you do not have a Program Files (x86) directory, the default is C:\Program Files\EDESuite\EDExpress for Windows 20XX-20YY. Choose OK to initiate and run the service release installation.

You do not need to reboot your PC(s) once the copy procedure is complete to resume using EDExpress for either cycle.

Additional Tips and Guidance

Note the following additional tips when loading service release files to your PC workstation(s):

  • Be sure to close EDExpress on your PC(s) before performing the download and copy procedure.

  • Microsoft Windows users must have admin rights to the PC workstation(s) running EDExpress to run the service release file installation.

  • If you receive a message indicating you cannot overwrite the file (usually due to a “sharing violation”), restart your computer and try again. Windows may think the file overwritten by the service release file installation is in use until you restart.

  • If your EDExpress database is installed on a network drive, and you have multiple PC workstations accessing that database, you must run the service release file installation on EACH workstation.
