As described in the March 29, 2024 Electronic Announcement, institutions will have the ability to begin reporting Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Employment (FVT/GE) data through the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS®) on July 1, 2024.
In this announcement, we provide the details institutions need to enroll a Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) TG Mailbox for NSLDS FVT/GE reporting. Enrolling for FVT/GE reporting will enable your institution to report FVT/GE program and student information to NSLDS via batch beginning July 1, 2024, and to receive the Draft and Final Completers Lists in your SAIG TG mailbox when they are distributed later this year.
Important
We encourage you to carefully review the information in this announcement and complete the SAIG enrollment steps as soon as possible, to ensure your institution is prepared to begin NSLDS FVT/GE reporting.
Note: Some institutions enrolled for NSLDS GE reporting in the past. If your institution has an SAIG TG Mailbox that is currently enrolled for the “Gainful Employment Reporting” service, no further action is needed for batch reporting.
NSLDS users with online access may also choose to submit or update FVT/GE data using the NSLDS Professional Access website. Refer to the “Online Access for NSLDS FVT/GE Reporting” section below for more information about this alternative reporting method.
SAIG Enrollment Instructions for NSLDS FVT/GE Reporting
In order to participate in NSLDS FVT/GE batch reporting, the institution’s Primary or Secondary Destination Point Administrator (DPA) must identify the SAIG TG mailbox to enroll. You may create a separate SAIG TG mailbox for this purpose or you may use any of the institution’s existing SAIG mailboxes. However, the SAIG TG Mailbox must be associated with the Main Campus (‘00’ branch code of the six-digit OPE ID).
Once enrolled, your institution will send FVT/GE data files to NSLDS from the designated SAIG TG mailbox. In addition, your institution’s Draft and Final Completers List files will be delivered directly to this designated SAIG TG mailbox.
Below are step-by-step instructions to enroll for NSLDS FVT/GE reporting on the SAIG Enrollment website. The Primary or Secondary DPA must follow one of two sets of instructions, based on whether the OPE ID is currently enrolled for another type of NSLDS reporting:
-
If the OPE ID is already enrolled for an NSLDS Batch Service (e.g., Financial Aid History/Transfer Monitoring, Enrollment Reporting, or Perkins Loan), follow the first set of instructions (Instructions A, below).
-
If the OPE ID is not already enrolled for an NSLDS Batch Service, follow the second set of instructions (Instructions B, below).
A signature page is not required for a school to add this service (using either set of instructions). The new service will be active and ready for use within 24–48 hours.
A third-party servicer must submit a signature page if the OPE ID is not already enrolled for an NSLDS Batch Service (Instructions B). The new service will be active and ready for use within five business days of receipt of the signature page.
Instructions A: Enroll for FVT/GE Reporting When OPE ID Is Currently Enrolled for an NSLDS Batch Service

If you are a third-party servicer and you are enrolling an OPE ID for an NSLDS Batch Service for the first time, you must continue with the instructions to print, sign, and submit the signature page.
Third-Party Servicers – Signature pages required:

The new service will be active and ready for use within five business days of receipt of the signature page.
When NSLDS FVT/GE reporting functionality becomes available on July 1, 2024, NSLDS users with online access may choose to submit FVT/GE data or update previously reported data using the NSLDS Professional Access website. Most users will find that online reporting is not as efficient as batch reporting, but this alternative reporting method may be helpful to use on an as-needed basis.
Online users will also be able to request Draft and Final Completers List reports using NSLDS Professional Access, when the lists are created later this year. Reports requested online will be delivered to the SAIG TG mailbox associated with the NSLDS User ID that requested the information.
To take advantage of online NSLDS FVT/GE reporting, your institution must have a user associated with “Enrollment Update for NSLDS Online Services.” The Primary or Secondary DPA for your school must add this access to an existing FSA User ID through the SAIG Enrollment website.
Online reporting will be described in detail in an upcoming installment of the NSLDS FVT/GE User Guide.
