NSLDS Professional Access – Recent Dependency Status Issue Resolved and Corrected ISIRs Sent During NSLDS Postscreening

We would like the community to be aware that we recently resolved an issue with the Dependency Status not displaying correctly on the NSLDS Professional Access website or in Financial Aid History (FAH) response batch files. If you independently requested FAH batch files from Dec. 17–Dec. 26, 2023, we recommend you request those FAH records again to refresh and accurately reflect National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS®) data and values.

This issue also caused discrepancies in determining aggregate loan limit totals and resulted in some 2023–24 ISIRs being incorrectly flagged for exceeding aggregate loan limits during the weekly NSLDS postscreening process. ISIRs for 68,778 applicants, processed between Dec. 17–Dec. 29, 2023, were impacted by this issue.

We corrected this issue in NSLDS on Dec. 26, 2023, and the NSLDS postscreening process that was run during the week of Jan. 1, 2024, self-corrected the impacted ISIRs.

If your institution received any of the affected 2023–24 postscreened ISIRs, please use the postscreened ISIR produced during the week of Jan. 1, 2024. This will ensure your 2023–24 ISIRs contain the most current information and include accurate aggregate loan limit indicators.

Thank you for your patience as we resolved this issue.
