We are pleased to announce the availability of a 2024–25 test Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) data file for use in system testing by schools, state agencies, software providers, and other agencies and entities. Testing is optional. The file is a tool to help ensure your processing system is prepared for the ISIR data that will be produced by the FAFSA Processing System (FPS).
The test ISIR data file (IDSA25OP.DAT) contains three fictitious student records with realistic field values for different scenarios. These scenarios include:
-
A dependent student with taxes filed and one parent,
-
An independent student without filed taxes, and
-
A rejected transaction containing a highlighted field for a provisional independent student who has no match with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
For more information on the 2024–25 ISIR changes and the current ISIR record layout, see the 2024–25 FAFSA Specifications Guide, Volume 4, Record Layouts and Processing Codes available for download from the Knowledge Center website. In addition, Volume 9 – Testing and Web Demo System, provides an overview of FPS testing options.
