Additional COD System Implementation for 2022–23 Award Year (September 2022)

On Sept. 25, 2022, we plan to implement Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System functionality that supports the Campus-Based programs and the processing of Federal Pell Grant (Pell Grant), Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant, Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant, and William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) awards for the 2022–23 award year.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important activity.

COD System Outage Information

To implement the COD System functionality, we will suspend COD batch processing from midnight to 11 a.m. Eastern time (ET) on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022. Records submitted during this time will be held and processed after 11 a.m. ET on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022.

In addition, during the outage—

  • Users will not be able to submit or retrieve data via the COD website.

  • Users will not be able to access the COD Reports area of the COD website.

Additional 2022–23 COD System Changes

While we are making changes to the COD System with this release, most of those changes will not impact schools or require changes to school processing. There are two things of note:

  1. As explained in a July 25, 2022 Electronic Announcement, the physical address of the COD call center moved from Niagara Falls, NY to Fairfax, VA. With this release, we will update the address throughout the COD website and on other FSA websites, as appropriate.

Note: Some forms and documents will not be updated in September but are expected to be updated by the end of the year.

  2. To reflect expanded customer support because of the implementation of the FSA Partner Connect website, the COD call center’s name will be updated to be FSA Partner and School Relations Center. Starting with this September release, schools will begin to see this name change throughout the COD website, on other FSA websites, and on the applicable forms and documents.
