Subject: OUTAGE ALERT – Federal Student Aid Website and System Outages April 27-29, 2018
During the period April 27-29, 2018, we plan to complete important system work that will impact several Federal Student Aid websites and systems. This work is related to the transition of our data center to a new location and is in addition to the regular weekly maintenance that occurs each weekend.
Information is provided below about the websites and systems that will be affected. Please review the information and evaluate the impact on your school or organization during the outage period.
In the coming months, additional outage periods that will impact other Federal Student Aid websites and systems will be required, as we complete the transition to the new data center. We will post announcements to the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) website informing you in advance of these outages. We do not anticipate that schools or organizations will need to make any changes to access Federal Student Aid systems after the data center transition is complete.
April 27-29, 2018 Outage
From 5 p.m. Eastern time (ET) on Friday, April 27, 2018, until 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 29, 2018, users will be unable to access the websites and systems listed below. Users attempting to access an impacted website or system during this outage period will receive an error message informing them that the page cannot be found or that the site is unavailable due to maintenance.
Electronic Cohort Default Rate Appeals (eCDR Appeals)
Financial Aid Toolkit
Financial Partners Portal
- IFAP (including Default Management and Quality Assurance Program)
Note: In addition, functionality on the websites and systems listed above may be somewhat limited in the days just prior to the outage period. Of particular note, during the week of April 23, 2018, communications posted to the IFAP and Financial Partners Portal websites will be limited to those that must be posted during that week. Other communications will be held until the following week.
We apologize for the inconvenience these outages may cause and appreciate your patience as we complete these important upgrades.
