Subject: 2018-2019 ISIR Guide (November 2017)

We are pleased to announce the posting of an updated 2018-2019 ISIR Guide. The ISIR Guide assists financial aid administrators (FAAs) in interpreting student information on the Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR). ISIRs contain processed student information reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®), as well as key processing results and National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS®) financial aid history information. ISIRs are sent electronically to institutions by the Central Processing System (CPS).

In the November 2017 version of the guide, we corrected an incorrect year reference in the Parent IRS Display Flag field, revised the DHS Verification Number text to describe changes to the G-845 process, updated the fields that are masked on the printed ISIR, and removed the IRS Data Available Flag from the sample ISIR. For more information, consult the Change History Table added to the beginning of the guide.

In addition to its current availability on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) website, the guide will also be available in the next several days from the Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) website, located at https://www.fsadownload.ed.gov.
