Subject: OUTAGE ALERT - Federal Student Aid Website and System Outages October 21-22, 2017

During the period October 21-22, 2017, we plan to execute extended website maintenance and operating system upgrades to several Federal Student Aid websites and systems. This work is in addition to the regular weekly maintenance that occurs each weekend.

This announcement provides information about the websites and systems that will be affected during the extended maintenance period. Please review the information in this announcement and evaluate the impact on your school or organization during the outage period.

October 21-22, 2017 Outage

From 11:00 P.M. (ET) on Saturday, October 21, 2017, until 12:05 P.M. (ET) on Sunday, October 22, 2017, users will be unable to access the websites and systems listed below. Users attempting to access an impacted website or system during this outage period will receive an error message informing them that the page cannot be found or that the site is unavailable due to maintenance.

  • Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System

  • e-Campus-Based (eCB)

  • Electronic Cohort Default Rate Appeals (eCDR Appeals)

  • Experimental Sites

  • eZ-Audit Datamart

  • FAA Access to CPS Online (including R2T4 on the Web)

  • National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) Professional Access

  • NSLDS Professional Access Training

  • Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) (EDconnect)

  • SAIG Enrollment

Note: The Federal Student Aid Information Center (FSAIC) will open at 11:00 A.M. (ET) as scheduled on Sunday, October 22, 2017, but customer support representatives will not have access to the systems listed above until the conclusion of the outage at 12:05 P.M. (ET). A message will be posted to FSAIC’s automated phone system alerting customers to the impact of the outage.

SAIG File Submission Impact

During the outage period, EDconnect software users will not be able to transmit files via the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG). EDconnect users attempting to transmit files during the outage period will receive an error message informing them that the SAIG is unavailable. Data must be transmitted at a later time, after the outage is complete.
