Subject: Additional COD System Implementation Planned for October 28-30, 2016 (Updated October 24, 2016)
Note: On Monday, October 24, 2016, we updated the “Additional COD System Changes – October 2016” attachment document to reflect a corrected implementation date for the “Direct PLUS Loan Requests – Updated Borrower Default Status Check Process” change. Full implementation of this change will be November 20, 2016 instead of November 14, 2016.
As explained in a February 25, 2016 Electronic Announcement on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) website, we implemented Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System functionality to support 2016-2017 Award Year processing. During the period of October 28-30, 2016, we plan to implement additional COD System functionality.
In this announcement, we provide the following important information related to the implementation:

COD Batch Processing Suspension and Web Site Outage Information
To install the COD System functionality, we will suspend COD batch processing beginning at 8:00 P.M. (ET) on Friday, October 28, 2016. Records submitted after this time will be held and processed after 11:00 A.M. (ET) on Sunday, October 30, 2016.
Note: All actual disbursements with a disbursement date from October 28, 2016 through October 30, 2016 must be received by the COD System no later than 9:00 A.M. (ET) on Friday, October 28, 2016, and subsequently accepted by the COD System, in order to generate the appropriate funding level increase prior to the outage. Disbursements submitted by the deadline but not subsequently accepted, disbursements submitted after the deadline, and disbursements with a disbursement date after October 30, 2016 will be processed and funded after the outage.
In addition, between 8:00 P.M. (ET) on Friday, October 28, 2016 and 11:00 A.M. (ET) on Sunday, October 30, 2016—
Users will not be able to submit or retrieve data via the COD Web Site.
Users will not be able to access the COD Reports area of the COD Web Site.
An individual will not be able to complete any actions or view loan correspondence via the StudentLoans.gov website.
An individual will not be able to complete any actions via the TEACH Grant website.
COD System Changes Effective October 30, 2016
