Subject: Extension of Invitation to Participate in the Loan Counseling Experiment

This Electronic Announcement advises institutions that they may still submit Letters of Interest to participate in the loan counseling experiment under the Department’s Experimental Sites Initiative (ESI). The loan counseling experiment provides institutions with the authority to require additional loan counseling beyond the statutorily required one-time entrance and one-time exit counseling. Please refer to the for details on the experiment. While the Federal Register notice stated that Letters of Interest from institutions interested in participating in the experiment must be submitted no later than September 29, 2016 to receive priority consideration, we will continue to accept Letters of Interest for several more days. As noted in the Federal Register notice, Letters of Interest are to be submitted to experimentalsites@ed.gov.

We thank you for your interest in the ESI.
