Subject: Gainful Employment Electronic Announcement #81 - GE Completers List Corrections Period: June 14 to July 28, 2016

In a series of recent communications we have provided detailed information about the June 1, 2016 distribution of the Draft Gainful Employment (GE) Completers Lists. In Gainful Employment Electronic Announcement #78 we announced that we would provide the dates for the 45-day GE Completers Lists corrections submission period as soon as our new corrections submission process became available for use.

On Monday, June 13, 2016, the GE Completers List Corrections Submission process will be accessible from the Gainful Employment tab on the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) Professional Access Web site. Beginning Tuesday, June 14, 2016, institutions will have 45 days to submit corrections to the information included in the Draft GE Completers Lists, using the new functionality in NSLDS. The final day of the 45-day GE Completers Lists corrections submission period will be Thursday, July 28, 2016.

Important: As we have previously stated, to access the GE Completers List Corrections Submission process on NSLDS, a user must have online access to the NSLDS Professional Access Web site, and that access must include Enrollment Update functionality. Refer to Gainful Employment Electronic Announcement #75 for more information.

Updated NSLDS Gainful Employment User Guide

To assist institutions with submitting corrections to the Draft GE Completers Lists, we have updated the NSLDS Gainful Employment User Guide to include a new chapter on the GE Completers List Corrections Submission process in NSLDS. Chapter 6, “Making GE Completers List Corrections”, is available in the updated guide on the NSLDS User Documentation page on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site, as well as in the "Resources" section of the Gainful Employment Information Page.

This June 2016 version of the guide also includes updates to Chapter 5, “GE Completers List”, to include the most current information about accessing and reviewing Completers List data.

Resources and Training Opportunities

As a reminder, two tools are available that can be used to import, view, and sort GE Completers List data: the GE Completers List Viewer Tool and the GE Completers List Import Tool. Both tools are available for download from the "Resources" section of the Gainful Employment Information Page on the IFAP Web site. Refer to Gainful Employment Electronic Announcement #79 for more information.

Additionally, institutions should carefully review the information and the Submitting GE Completers List Corrections chart that we provided in Gainful Employment Electronic Announcement #78 for important information on documentation needed to support a request for a correction to a GE Completers Lrt a request for a correction to a GE Completers List.
