Subject: 2016-2017 Application Processing System Specifications for Software Developers (January 2016 Final)

We are pleased to announce the posting of the final 2016-2017 Application Processing System Specifications for Software Developers.

In this version, we updated the Complete Reject Edits section to revise the parameters in edits 4031-4035 for Reject 20 and correct values in the State and Other Tax Allowances tables. We also revised the valid field content for the Student and Parent Legal Resident Date fields in the 2016-2017 Valid Field Definitions and Editing Specifications section and removed all references to the specifications as a “draft” from the document.

In addition to its current availability on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site (https://ifap.ed.gov), the specifications will also be available in the next several days from the Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at https://fsadownload.ed.gov.
