Subject: Webinar for the Experimental Sites Initiative's expanded "Competency-Based Education" experiment
This Electronic Announcement informs institutions of a webinar about the Competency-Based Education (CBE) experiment that was announced in the .
During the webinar we will discuss the requirements to participate in the experiment, including the specific statutory and/or regulatory waivers that will be provided and any alternative requirements. We will also discuss the expansion of the CBE Experiment that will be announced in an upcoming Federal Register Notice. This expansion will accommodate institutions that assess students’ tuition for their CBE programs using “subscription periods,” where students are charged a single fee for all of their competency-based instruction during a specified period of time. This expansion of the experiment will include, for institutions using subscription periods, a term-based disbursement method, as opposed to the non-term disbursement method provided under the current version of the experiment.
