Subject: FSA ID/PIN Replacement - How to Create an FSA ID Guide

In advance of the May 10, 2015 implementation of the FSA ID, we are pleased to provide a one-page resource for students, parents, and borrowers. The guide explains the need for creating an FSA ID and describes how to create an FSA ID.

For more information about the May 10, 2015 implementation of the FSA ID, refer to the April 13, 2015 electronic announcement.

The best time to distribute this guide is after the FSA ID is available for individuals to create an account. If your institution has a population that you feel would benefit from this information prior to implementation, please emphasize there is nothing a user can or should do prior to implementation.

As you share news of the upcoming change, it also is important to note that only the owner of the FSA ID should create his or her account. The FSA ID serves as a legal signature, and only should be known and used by the owner.

Information about the upcoming transition to the FSA ID is available at StudentAid.gov/fsaid. We will update this page to provide more detail about the FSA ID after implementation.

Thank you in advance for your continued support as we implement this important change.
