Subject: Updated SAIG Software and Documentation Now Available
We are pleased to announce the availability of new versions of Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) software and user documentation on the Federal Student Aid Download (FSADownload) Web site. EDconnect 8.4 and TDClient 3.2.2 are now available to provide Internet Protocol (IP) version 6 (IPv6) support.
EDconnect 8.4 and TDClient 3.2.2
EDconnect 8.4 and TDClient 3.2.2 are compatible for use with both IPv4 and IPv6 connections.
If your organization has access to an IPv6 connection and wishes to transmit data across the SAIG using an IPv6 connection, you must upgrade to EDconnect 8.4 or TDClient 3.2.2. After upgrading to EDconnect 8.4 or TDClient 3.2.2, an IPv6 connection may be successfully used to transmit data across the SAIG.
If your organization only has access to an IPv4 connection, you may continue using the previous software versions (EDconnect 8.3 or TDClient 3.2) or upgrade to EDconnect 8.4 or TDClient 3.2.2. Use of the new software is optional. The previous versions of the software are still available for download and organizations may continue to use those versions if needed.
If you are unsure about the type of connection your institution has access to, we recommend you contact your IT department for further information.
TDCM
Additionally, the Transaction Delivery Community Manager (TDCM) Web portal has been upgraded from TOMCAT to the JBoss application server, providing enhanced security. Users will notice a new look and feel to the TDCM Web application.

User Documentation
Updated EDconnect, TDClient, and TDCM user documentation has been posted on the FSADownload Web site. Refer to the EDconnect 8.4 Installation and User Guide, the updated SAIG TDClient Host Communications Guide, and the updated TDCM User Guide for more information about the upgraded software and Web portal.
