Subject: Complete 2014-2015 Federal Student Aid Handbook with Index Linked to Entries

We are pleased to announce the release of the indexed version of the 2014-2015 Federal Student Aid Handbook.

For the user's convenience, the index to the 2014-2015 Federal Student Aid Handbook appears at the beginning of the PDF document, and the index entries are linked to the referenced pages. If the user sees a topic of interest, such as "Professional Judgment," he or she can simply click on the page number to go directly to that page in the Handbook.

There also have been several new updates made to the content and layout of the indexed version of the 2014-2015 Federal Student Aid Handbook since the 2013-2014 Federal Student Aid Handbook version. The first update is the addition of the Appendices. Some of the appendices were previously part of The Blue Book, while others are brand new.

The second update is the insertion of the following active links at the top of each page in the seven Handbook volumes:

  • “DCL” and “CFR” will take readers to a page where they can search for the Dear Colleague Letter or federal regulation referenced in the 2014-2015 Federal Student Aid Handbook.

  • “Glossary” and “Acronyms” will take a reader encountering a word or acronym for the first time directly to the Glossary or Acronym Appendix.
