Subject: Upcoming Distribution of 2014-2015 Renewal FAFSA Reminders

The distribution of 2014-2015 Renewal Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Reminders by the Central Processing System (CPS) will begin on January 16, 2014 and continue through January 22, 2014.

As described in the October 30, 2013 electronic announcement posted to the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site, Renewal Reminder e-mail notifications will be sent to students who are renewal-eligible for 2014-2015 and qualified for reminders by January 13, 2014. Eligible students must have a valid e-mail address on their 2013-2014 record to receive a 2014-2015 Renewal Reminder e-mail.

Please note the following additional information:

  • A student may become renewal-eligible for 2014-2015 after January 13, 2014 if he or she initially files a 2013-2014 FAFSA or if a correction is made to his or her 2013-2014 record after January 13, 2014 that creates a renewal-eligible record. This student is eligible to complete the 2014-2015 renewal application, but will not receive a Renewal Reminder e-mail.

  • We will not send Renewal Reminders to renewal-eligible students who already have a processed 2014-2015 FAFSA by January 13, 2014.

For more information on the Renewal Reminder process, see the October 30, 2013 electronic announcement.
