Subject: Error Messages Received When Sending and Receiving SAIG Mailbox Files on October 9-10, 2013

On Wednesday, October 9, 2013 and Thursday, October 10, 2013, we received reports from users who received a "421 error" when attempting to send files to and receive files from their Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) mailboxes.

Through our research to date, we have discovered that the "421 error" is related to the maximum user threshold being exceeded. New connections cannot be established when this occurs. We are continuing to investigate the root cause of this issue and to closely monitor and ensure the system's accessibility.
