Subject: New Functionality and Updated Record Layouts for the NSLDS School Portfolio Report

We are pleased to announce updates to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) School Portfolio Report (SCHPR1). A complete description of the enhancements to the School Portfolio Report extract will be included in an upcoming NSLDS Newsletter posted to the Information for Financial Aid Professional (IFAP) Web site.

The updates to the School Portfolio Report include the following changes:

  1. The School Portfolio Report, previously only available as an ad-hoc report, is available as a scheduled report and provides six years' worth of data. The six-year window includes the three years prior to the current cohort year, the current cohort year, and two years after the current cohort year.
  2. The ad-hoc and scheduled reports are available in fixed-width and comma separated values (CSV) formats.
  3. Two new message classes have been created to differentiate between the two file formats and are uniquely used by the School Portfolio Report:

    • SCHRPFOP (fixed-width)
    • SCHRPCOP (comma separated values)
  4. The following data elements have been added to the School Portfolio Report record layout:
  • Day of the Month Payment is Due
  • Most Recent Deferment Begin Date
  • Most Recent Deferment End Date
  • Most Recent Deferment Reason Code
  • Most Recent Forbearance Begin Date
  • Most Recent Forbearance End Date
  • Most Recent Forbearance Reason Code

The updated record layouts for the School Portfolio Report have been posted to the NSLDS Record Layouts page on the IFAP Web site.
