Subject: Removal of Entrance and Exit Counseling Videos from Direct Loan Web Site Effective October 12, 2012

This announcement provides information about an upcoming change to the Direct Loan Web site. The Entrance and Exit counseling videos that are currently available on the Direct Loan Web site for schools to use with their students have become obsolete and have been replaced with the online counseling modules on the StudentLoans.gov Web site (for Entrance Counseling) and the National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS) Web site (for Exit Counseling).

Effective October 12, 2012, we will remove the Entrance and Exit counseling videos found on the Direct Loan Web site at http://www.direct.ed.gov/video.html. If a school has bookmarked the Web URL for these videos or has direct links to these videos on its Web site, it must remove the bookmarks and links by October 12, 2012.

As noted above, Entrance and Exit counseling modules are available on the StudentLoans.gov and NSLDS Web sites. In addition, paper counseling materials are available for order from the FSAPubs Web site. PDF versions of counseling materials are available on the Direct Loan Web site (http://www.direct.ed.gov/pubs/profpubs.html).

We appreciate your understanding as we ensure schools have the most current entrance and exit counseling materials.
