Subject: Date of Default Display Issue in NSLDS School Portfolio Report Resolved
The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) School Portfolio Report (SCHPR1) is available to schools by request under the Report Tab on the NSLDS Professional Access Web site. This report provides a school with information about all William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) and/or Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) program loans associated with its school code. It includes loans that are serviced by all servicers, including our federal loan servicers, and provides identifying information about the servicer for each loan. The report is delivered to the school’s Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) mailbox.
In May 2012, we implemented performance enhancements to the NSLDS School Portfolio Report (SCHPR1). In completing that work, we inadvertently created an underlying issue that resulted in requests for the report received between May 28, 2012 and June 25, 2012 to display the Date of Delinquency in both the Date of Delinquency (Position 278 - 285) field and the Date of Default (Position 312 - 319) field.
On June 26, 2012, we resolved the underlying issue that affected the Date of Default display in the NSLDS School Portfolio Report (SCHPR1). Reports processed on or after June 26, 2012 will display the correct Date of Default for loans that have been reported as in default.
We apologize for the inconvenience this report issue has caused schools that requested the NSLDS School Portfolio Report (SCHPR1) between May 28, 2012 and June 25, 2012. To ensure that an affected school has correct Date of Default information, the school should request the report again via the Report Tab on the NSLDS Professional Access Web site.
