Subject: SAIG Upgrade - TDClient 3.2 Sun Solaris Software Release
On March 5, 2012, we released the TDClient 3.2 software as part of our upgrade to all components of the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG). Upon user installation of TDClient 3.2, it was reported that certain Sun Solaris users were unable to install the new software.
If you have experienced this issue you may be using an unsupported Patch Level of Solaris which will prevent you from being able to install the TDClient 3.2 software. It is recommended that you download and apply the latest Patch Level for Sun Solaris posted to the Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site.
If applying the latest Patch Level is not possible, a new, additional version of TDClient 3.2 for Sun Solaris is now available on the FSAdownload Web site. This new version of TDClient Sun Solaris supports Solaris 9 and Solaris 10, up to Patch Level 10.
Users Who Should Install the New, Additional Version of TDClient 3.2
The following TDClient 3.2 Sun Solaris users will need to download and install the new, additional version of TDClient 3.2 that is available on the FSAdownload Web site:
- If a user is on Solaris 9 they should be at the latest Patch Level and should download the new, additional version of TDClient 3.2.
- If a user is on Solaris 10 and cannot update their Patch Level, the new, additional version of TDClient 3.2 should be installed.
Users Who Should Install the Original Version TDClient 3.2
The following TDClient 3.2 Sun Solaris users will need to download and install the orginal version of TDClient 3.2 that is available on the FSAdownload Web site:
- If the user is on Solaris 10 they should apply patch set 11 or above and install the original version of TDClient 3.2.
- If the user is on Solaris 11 they should install the original version of TDClient 3.2.
Also available on the FSAdownload Web site is a new version of the SAIG Host Communication Guide. The new version of the Host Communication Guide includes the updated supported platforms for TDClient 3.2.
As a reminder, all schools that use TDClient to connect to the SAIG are required to download and begin using the upgraded software product by May 27, 2012.
