Subject: Reminder: FAA Access to CPS Online Login Issue May Be Resolved by Updating Web Browser Bookmark
We continue to receive reports from users experiencing difficulties logging into the FAA Access to CPS Online Web site, including receiving an error message stating “FAFSA on the Web is currently unavailable due to scheduled maintenance.” We originally alerted you to this issue in the December 20, 2011 electronic announcement posted to the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site.
In the majority of these cases, we continue to identify outdated or incorrect browser bookmarks to the FAA Access to CPS Online Web site as the cause of the login issue.
As a reminder, before contacting CPS/SAIG Technical Support for login assistance in these situations, we recommend you first open your browser, delete your current FAA Access to CPS Online bookmark, and create a new bookmark that points to https://faaaccess.ed.gov or https://faaaccess.ed.gov/FOTWWebApp/faa/faa.jsp. These steps should resolve most login issues with the FAA Access to CPS Online Web site.
We regret any inconvenience this issue may have caused you. If you have any questions regarding this message, contact CPS/SAIG Technical Support at 800/330-5947 (TDD/TTY 800/511-5806) or by e-mail at CPSSAIG@ed.gov.
